Peter Belden, Secretary
Peter Belden is Co-Founder of Upstream, a new nonprofit that is helping more health centers offer the full range of contraceptive methods. Peter's extensive experience in the population and reproductive health field includes clinical and policy roles with Planned Parenthood, and implementation and evaluation work with Population Services International in Mali, and USAID in India, Nepal and Kenya. Previously, Peter served eight years at the Hewlett Foundation as Program Officer in the Global Development and Population Program. Peter has developed a deep and broad network of relationships with many nonprofits and funders and is widely respected. Peter has served on the Board of Directors of the California Family Health Council and Virginia NARAL and was Co-Chair of the Population Working Group for the Funders Network on Population, Reproductive Health & Rights. Peter got his start in the health field while working as an undergraduate health educator at Princeton. He also has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
